What is a Building Network Operator? BNO?
What is a building network operator?
A Building Network Operator (BNO) is the company that owns and operates the electricity distribution equipment within a multiple occupancy building. This includes the electrical equipment located between the main intake fuse for the building up to customer’s electricity meters. For some multi-occupied buildings, the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) also acts as the BNO. Other BNO’s include, another contracted licensed distributor or the landlord or building management company.
When your landlord makes a connection application for the alteration or upgrade of the supply for your building. As part of the design process we will assess the installation and confirm ownership of the electrical equipment.
Are you installing LCTs at an existing building?
If you are installing LCTs at an existing mutli-occupied building, you may need to alter or upgrade the existing electricity supply as you may not have enough capacity or the correct set up to be able to connect LCT to your property.
If you are unsure if you need to upgrade your existing supply, you will need to contact the landlord of the building or the LCT installer who will be able to advise you. Once confirmed, your landlord can then apply to upgrade your electricity supply.
